"The Ministry will set up an interactive complaints redressal page on Facebook for issues concerning women and children such as adoption, sexual offences and other atrocities," Maneka said after assuming office.

With the launch of this page, the Ministry will be interacting directly with those who have sent the complaints or raised any issues that need attention, Maneka said.

She said that an interactive email-based helpline would also be set up for women.

Maneka, a well known animal rights activist and environmentalist, met senior officials of the Women And Child Development Ministry.

Maneka was also in the Council of Ministers during the previous NDA government-led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
