New Delhi, (JPN/Bureau): The unauthorised schools mushroomed around national capital will have to face the music. Education Directorate issued orders to close all illegal schools immediately.

According to the Education Directorate, such schools violate the rules of Right to Education, which must be stopped immediately. They asked report from the schools on facilities of school, sports grounds, boundary walls and the status of teachers.

The schools have to explanation reason for not getting authorized. If they fail to submit the report, they will have to pay fine up to Rs 1lakh and may face legal action.

P Krishnamurthy, Director of Education, has issued a circular to all such schools in this regard. According to sources, there are around 2,000 authorized and 2500 illegal schools.

Delhi Public School association president, RC Jain said, “1571 non accredited schools were registered in high court three years ago. After, 1000 more school came up.”

Jain added, the future of 4.5 million children studying in the unauthorized schools will be bleak with this order.
