Gwalior: The Gwalior bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court on Wednesday ordered the state Governor Ram Naresh Yadav, who is also the Chancellor of Jiwaji University to probe financial irregularities in the University.

The bench of Justices SK Ganguli and Sheel Nagu passed the order on a Public Interest Litigation.

The court has made state Chief Secretary, DGP (EOW), Lokayukta and Vice-Chancellor of the University a party in the case.

The petitioner has alleged massive financial irregularities in the purchase of several items without inviting tender. It was also alleged that the University Vice-Chancellor had bought a car worth Rs 20 lakh without the permission of executive council.

The petitioner also alleged that rules were flouted in PHD admissions for the relatives of the University officials.

The High Court order has created a flutter among the University officials and they refused to speak on the matter.
