"I will not rule out anything now," Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh told reporters here while replying to a question on the possibility of appointment of some Governors before the start of the Budget Session of Parliament.

"I will be able to tell you only after three to four days," he added.

The Union Home Minister said he was not in a position to comment on whether Goa and West Bengal Governors B V Wanchoo and M K Narayanan respectively should continue in their posts.

There have been reports that both Wanchoo and Narayanan may be examined as witnesses by the CBI in connection with AgustaWestland helicopter scam.

While Governors of Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh have already quit, sources said that some others have been asked by the new government to step down.

Sources said that the government was considering appointing some BJP veterans as Governors in around ten states.

Two Governors- Ashwini Kumar of Nagaland and M K Narayanan of West Bengal- are believed to have conveyed to the Centre their willingness to step down from their posts following the NDA government's pressure.
