New Delhi: Corruption charges have been registered against 128 officials of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi since 2008. However, no such case was reported in the first two months of this year.

In the last three years, Central bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Anti-Corruption Branch of Delhi government have registered 64 corruption cases involving 128 officials of the civic agency and 48 of them have been suspended during the same period.

According to official figures, the highest number of 60 officials were booked in 2008, followed by 43 in 2009 and 25 in 2010. However, in the first month of this year, no such cases were filed against any official of the civic agency.

Of the 64 cases, 52 are at various stages of investigation, one is at the stage of prosecution sanction while 11 cases are under trial.
