Sitamarhi: Getting employed before birth… Sounds bizarre!!!! Ironically, this is the way things have been going at Mahila Mahavidyalaya at Janakpur for past many years. The startling fact was brought to surface through Right to Information Act. On being exposed, the college management committee and teachers have remained tight-lipped on the paradoxical issue.

Rishikesh Kumar Chaudhari and Vinod Kumar Mishra had sought information under the RTI regarding the ongoing irregularities in the staff recruitment in the institution.

As per the reply made to the RTI, Professor Govind was appointed on the post of professor of Nepalese language on 17 March 1966, but the register mentions his birth date on 6 July 1975.

Similarly, the date of birth of Arabic Professor Mohammad Akhtar is 12 August 1958, while appointment date is 15 August 1966. First time Akhtar was appointed as Arabic teacher and second time as Persian teacher.

These are not the only two examples of the gross irregularities in isolation. Nine more startling such recruitments were exposed through the RTI. The College management as well as staff members are in an awkward position after the revelation.

After the revelation, District Education Officer and Sub Divisional Officer have constituted a team to look into the matter.
Principal (In-charge) Prof Rajkumari Gupta has expressed inability to comment on the issue. College Secretary Ram Narayan Raman and former Principal Gopalji Prasad also decided to remain silent.
