"I request all the women to take up a mission to build toilets in each and every house with the help of government's scheme. It is necessary for your health as well as for your dignity," said Patel, addressing Krishi Mahotsav (farmers' festival) organized at Chhota Udepur in the state on Tuesday.

She noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had started this festival in 2005 when he was the Chief Minister.

"Just a decade back, farmers were suffering due to mismanagement of water resources, outdated farming techniques and lack of innovative ideas. The introduction of Krishi Mahotsav in 2005 by Narendra Modi brought prosperity to farmers," she said.

"To make our women self-reliant, I have ordered the animal husbandry department to set up 'women-only' co-operative milk producing societies in those villages where no such society exists," she added.
