The team led by B B Swain, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation, on Tuesday met Assistant Undersecretary for Foreign Trade in UAE's Ministry of Economy Jumaa Al Kait.

Al Kait stressed the importance of bilateral relations between the UAE and India at all levels.

"Non-oil trade between the two countries surpassed USD 38 billion in 2013, making India the UAE's largest trading partner in the region.

This figure reiterates the strength and depth of bilateral economic ties. We believe new opportunities are opening up every day to further drive mutual cooperation across various economic and investment sectors," he said.

He highlighted UAE's enabling economic landscape, transparent business legislations and leading position in many global economic and trade indices.

He also provided the visiting delegation with an overview of the UAE's unique investment climate.

The delegation extended an official invitation to Sultan Al Mansouri, UAE's Minister of Economy, to attend the seventh Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2015 that is scheduled to be held in January.

The summit is expected to attract officials and business leaders from more than 120 countries and offers an ideal opportunity for exploring investment opportunities.

Focusing on 'Inclusive Development' as its primary focus area, the summit will also highlight key aspects such as innovation, sustainability, youth, skills, knowledge-sharing, and networking.
