Ahmedabad: Child abductor gang which is active in Gujarat will be soon under the scanner of Gujarat Police. To remove the failure tag from its head, the state police have decided to take the help of social networking site ‘facebook’.

Statistics show that 10, 000 children went missing during the last four years in the state out of which more than three thousand still remain traceless. Gujarat police is going to take the help of facebook to tackle this problem.

Gujarat Police faced embarrassment two months ago when two kids named Vishwa Patel and Kartik Rajendran were abducted from the posh area of the city. Crime branch has started the search operation after local police failed in its endeavour.

Crime branch officials believe that facebook is very popular among youth. Social networking site can not only make it possible to send information to the people regarding missing children very fast but can also help in collecting related information.

To make the mission successful, police will provide photographs, age, colour, clothes of missing kids on the site. Apart from this, language and interests of the children will also be uploaded on the site so that people can easily identify the children.
