Gurgaon: If one of the basic amenities of people like water is not freely available to a commoner, what should we say? Blame it on the lackadaisical attitude of the government or the inept move of the authorities concerned. Peoples’ woes are doubled with scorching heat clubbed with no water.

With the onslaught of summer, the Gurgaon people are going high and dry without water. With Monsoon playing truant with the city, people are going without water these days.

Situation is so grim that those residing in DLF and in other remote areas are not getting adequate drinking water. Only two days back, the district administration had promised that the city would get 53 cusecs of water from Chandu Budhera treatment plant which is most likely to solve the drinking water problem.

However, it is not going to happen before August. In this connection, Dharmasagar, head of FORWA (Forum of Resident Welfare Association) said that people living in building no- 1 to 260 of sector- 4 have not been able to get a single drop of water for the last many days.

Situation has arisen as pipe line through which water is supplied in the city has got damaged. Also in sectors like 21, 22, 23, 56, 45 and 47 are grappling with drinking water problem. In this connection, sector-21 RWA, Kanhaiya Lal Yadav admitted that those houses situated on a little height are in worse situation. Ram Singh, a HUDA official, admitted the fact that the city presently requires 80 MGD water whereas it is getting only 45 MGD presently.
