New Delhi: Amar Jyoti Kalita, the prime accused in the Guwahati molestation case, has been traced, the sources said.
 
As per the sources, the prime accused has been caught in a CCTV camera in Howrah. Sources say the CCTV footage of Kalita was recorded three days back in Howrah and the Assam Police are now likely to announce a cash reward for any information leading to his arrest.

The police had earlier claimed that Kalita was seen at the Bhubaneswar railway station.

Kalita is absconding after the shocking footage of the molestation of the minor girl went viral on the media.

Kalita is said to be a friend of the TV reporter who shot the molestation video on July 9. The journalist of NewsLive TV, Gaurav Jyoti Neog, was arrested last week. The Editor of NewsLive Atanu Bhuyan also had to resign from his job.

The Assam police have so far arrested 11 people in the case.

The unfortunate incident took place on July 9. A 17-year-old girl was molested by a group of over 12 people in full public view and the incident was filmed by a NewsLive journalist.

Media took up the incident on July 12, following which there was outrage in the country with activists demanding justice for the victim and action against the beasts.
