Gwalior (JPN/Bureau): The famous song of Naya Daur, saathi haath badhana, flawlessly sketches the spirit of villagers of Bhind district in Gwalior.

They have managed to construct a 200-metre long road after the authority concerned turned a deaf ear to their repeated requests for the road.

A committee set up by the villagers of Malpura village took the initiative of constructing the road.

They had requested the authority concerned many times for the road, but nothing happened. Villagers themselves constructed the road.

This has ended their transportation woes as no vehicle used to enter the village without a road. It has given a big relief to villagers as water is not logged in their homes owing to the constructed road.

Chief executive officer of Janpad Panchayat RN Gupta said that funds for road development are allocated to every village and Gram Panchayat should look after the work.
