Born on April 2, 1969, in Punjab, Ajay Devgn was raised in Mumbai. Ajay's father is the well known action director Veeru Devgan.

Ajay made his acting debut at the age of 15 with the 1985 film Meri Behna. Six years later, he marked his entry as a hero in Phool Aur Kaante. The movie won him his first Filmfare Award. Today, in a career spanning over two decades, Ajay has worked in numerous films and portrayed some fabulous characters.

Ajay is an actor par excellence and one who boasts of a great command over all genres ranging from comedy to action to romance and drama.

Ajay has won two National Awards – one for ‘Zakhm' and second for ‘The Legend Of Bhagat Singh’.
From the intense ‘Omkara’ to the flamboyant, manic Gopal in the ‘Golmaal’ series, to the tough cop in ‘Singham’, the actor has only gone from strength to strength.

A father to 10-year-old daughter Nysa and 3-year-old son Yug, Ajay married Kajol in 1999.
If reports are to be believed, the actor is taking a day off for his birthday. He avoids hosting lavish birthday bashes and prefers to have a low-key celebration with his family at home.

Says the actor’s spokesperson, “He is taking a break from Singham 2’s shoot and will spend time with the family.”

It is well-known fact in Bollywood that Ajay suffers from cake phobia — he simply hates to cut his birthday cake.

Incidentally, in 2012 when he was shooting in Patiala for 'Son of Sardaar', director Ashwini Dhir and the entire unit had to literally force him to cut his birthday cake.

Jagran Post team wishes Ajay Devgn a very Happy Birthday.
