New Delhi: The most stylish actor of Bollywood, Saif Ali Khan, who is more fondly known as Saifu turns 41 today. Last year Kareena Kapoor had planned a secret holiday at a clandestine location to celebrate Saif’s birthday, so is another secret birthday bash for Saifu on the offing from Bebo this year as well?

This ‘chote nawab’ was born into the family of the Nawabs of Pataudi on August 16, 1970. Being the son of Nawab Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, and actress Sharmila Tagore aristocracy and acting runs in his blood.

Saif Ali Khan likes to live life king size. He's a brat who played actor-actor until he did a complete turnaround post Dil Chahta Hai and from then there's no looking back as he busy juggling his revived career and lady love Kareena.

For some people, Bollywood is inscribed in their destiny. Though Saif was meant to debut in 1992 opposite Kajol in Bekhudi, he actually started his acting career with his debut movie Parampara in 1993.His royal charm failed to attract audiences to the theatres and as a result Parampara was announced as the biggest flop of that year.

His comic sense was appreciated in ‘Main Khiladi Tu Anadi’ where Saifu shared screen with Akhsay Kumar.

Failure is a stepping stone to success and this proved correct in Saif Ali Khan’s case. He did not shoot to fame instantly and had a few flops before he actually came up strong.

This cute little prince initially struggled to make his way into the industry with a roller coaster of hits and flops.

From Parampara to Aarakshan, he has witnessed the highest highs and lowest lows of life, be it his personal life or his filmy career.
However, his curvy career smoothened and Saif’s love for acting made him bag some few early awards. He won his first award for the movie Aashiq Awara in 1994 (Filmfare Best Debut Award). As a solo hero Saifu gave his first hit with Hum Tum starring Rani Mukherjee. He won National Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in Hum Tum (2004).

Saifu then had commercial success with films like Salaam Namaste (2005), Race (2008) and Love Aaj Kal (2009), and starred in critically acclaimed projects such as Parineeta (2005) and Omkara (2006).

His performance as Langda Tyagi in the remake of Shakespeare’s Othello, Omkara, won him accolades and Filmfare award in 2007 in the category of best villain.

His versatility not only took him places and but also tagged him as the one of the industry’s most bankable artists.

In 2009, Saif has branched out into film production company, Illuminati Films and his first home production Love Aaj Kal starring Deepka Padukone was a super hit.

Personal life

Just like his movie career, Saif’s love life in reality took major ups and downs. At the age of 21 he married Amrita Singh, who was 6 years older than him, in October 1991. But his 13 years of married life hit the rocks in 2004 when he divorced her.

They have two children, a daughter named Sara and a son named Ibrahim, both of whom live with Amrita now.

Saif, who was known as a ladies’ man had dated many stars even before marrying Amrita Singh. At the age of 16 he used to date Pooja Bhatt. There are stories about him being involved with many actresses double his age (Moon Moon Sen, Anu Agarwal).

With his new list of movies, rumors started spreading about Saifu’s love life. He was seen with his new Italian girlfriend Rosa at various hangouts in Mumbai. He soon admitted to these rumors and Saif and Rosa were seen hand in hand everywhere.

But this too did not last long. He ultimately broke up with Rosa. Post Rosa episode, Saif was seen a lot with Bipasha Basu. There were rumours about Yana Gupta as well.

After two failed relationships his search for true love came to an end when he met Kareena Kapoor.
If rumours are to be believed, these two came closer during the shooting of ‘Tashan’. After breaking up with Shahid Kapoor, emotionally unstable Karreena found a true support in Saif Ali Khan.

While the media speculated on his new love interest, he walked the ramp with actress Kareena Kapoor at the Manish Malhotra fashion show during the Lakme India Fashion Week, officially confirming that the two were dating and it could definitely lead to more.

They get along like a house on fire and grab eye balls whenever they come together. Presently, Bebo and Chote Nawab are the hottest couple of Bollywood also known as Saifeena.

Taking all criticisms positively he has carved a niche for himself in Bollywood. There was a time when his style sense was badly criticised but now he is considered as the most stylish actor in Bollywood. Wishing this deadly Khan all the best and wishes on his birthday from Jagranpost team.
