Dehra Dun: Amid factionalism within the Uttarakhand Congress, MLA Harak Singh Rawat will soon join the Cabinet of the Uttarakahnd Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna. Though the party is yet to form a consensus over the Deputy CM, it is confirmed that Rawat will be a part of the newly formed Cabinet.

The party high command is planning to clear internal discord within the party for the forthcoming election of the Speaker scheduled on March 26. However, the 11 party MLAs and supporters of Rawat are yet to take oath for becoming the member of state assembly.

With the decisions taken by the party high command to retain dwindling support in the hill state and to counter the internal feud within the party, the Congress capitulated to the pressure mounted by Rawat after Vijay Bahuguna was appointed the Chief Minister.
It needs to be mentioned that Rawat along with his supporters did not attended the swearing in ceremony of Bahuguna and tendered his resignation.
