New Delhi, (Jagranpost Network): India’s premier spinner, Harbhajan, is an aggressive off-spin bowler who has turned many games in India’s favour. Popular as “Bhajji”, he is a live wire in the field and a prankster off it.

Bhajji is a seasoned cricketer and handles the international pressure very well. He is prone to controversies right from the start of his career. In his early days, he was reported of suspected bowling action. Bhajji tweaked his action a little bit and made a memorable come back to India’s Test squad in 2001 against Australia which included a hat-trick in Kolkata.

Over the years, he has developed some lethal variation in his bowling. He masters the ‘doosra’ but keeps it as his stock delivery and does not over use it.

Bhajji tries to get under the skin of the batsman with his aggressiveness on the field and then uses his skill to knock him over.

However, Bhajji has started taking his batting quite seriously. With a couple of hundreds against New Zealand in the Test series, Bhajji has emerged as an all-rounder option for Team India. He showed his ability to use the long handle in South Africa, where he cleared the boundary with ease and scored valuable runs in the lower order.

Bhajji will enjoy the home advantage in this World Cup and will look to put his skills to full use to provide India with important breakthroughs.
