Haridwar: The Haridwar Municipal Coproration has failed to meet the deadline of providing documents related to Balkrishna, a close aide of yoga guru Baba Ramdev, to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Balkrishna is facing CBI inquiry for allegedly possessing a fake passport and the investigating agency has given the civic body ten days time to produce documents related to him.

While the civic body informed the CBI about the development, accounts officer of the Corporation, B L Arya, informed that a notice has been issued to the related officials, seeking clarification over the matter. He also hinted at departmental inquiry against them.

The original documents of Balkrishna, who allegedly used fake educational degrees for procuring his Indian passport, went missing from the Corporation records.

Following the CBI’s demands, a five member committee under the chairmanship of Municipal Health Officer Dr Anil Tyagi was set up by Arya.
