Haridwar: Support has started pouring in for yoga guru Baba Ramdev much before the commencement of his agitation. In a bid to extend support to Ramdev’s fast unto death on the issue of corruption and black money, his supporters in Haridwar,  where Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali Yogapeeth is headquartered, have decided to hold ‘Satyagraha’ and serial fast.

In order to express solidarity with Ramdev, who starts his fast unto death in Delhi on June 4, at least 100 people will observe serial fast every day. The campaign in Haridwar will continue as long as the yoga guru will extend his agitation.
The Bharat Swabhiman Trust which will lead the support campaign in Haridwar will ensure that no inconvenience is caused to the public during the programme. With the commencement of

Ramdev’s agitation in the national capital, the ‘Satyagraha’ will be launched at Rishikul ground here. The support campaign will mark the participation of yoga guru’s followers in thousands.
In the wake of the campaign, the preparations at the Rishikul ground are being made on the lines of the Ramleela Maidan in Delhi, where Ramdev will hold his hunger strike along with Jantar Mantar.

Since the holy city of Haridwar has been the ‘Karmabhumi’ of Baba Ramdev, no stone is being left unturned as far as preparation for the Satyagraha goes. It is also being ensured that people do not face any problem in the vicinity of the venue. It is for this reason that the ‘Satyagraha’ movement has been limited to the Rishikul ground.

Rajendra Prasad Tyagi, divisional head of the Patanjali Yogapeeth, who is taking care of the preparations on behalf of the trust said: “The fast by Baba on the issue of corruption is being observed for the interest of the country and for its people. So, we are making sure that people are not troubled. The campaign will be carried out on the lines of agitation in Delhi and changes will be made as per the alterations in the national capital.”
