Expressing satisfaction at the ongoing restoration work at Kedarnath, Rawat said the workers deployed there would be given an additional amount of Rs 100 per day and their insurance would also be done by the state government.

The Chief Minister commended the team of Nehru Institute of Mountaineering for its efforts to restore the Himalayan shrine which bore the brunt of last year's catastrophic deluge.

Rawat met the police personnel deployed there and directed District Magistrate of Rudraprayag, Raghav Langer, to prepare a proposal for giving them an additional sum of Rs 5,000 per month.

Officials also informed that the construction of a 150-metre long and 50-metre broad helipad at Kedarnath will be completed by December 26.

Rawat said at least 50,000 visitors have attended the 'Char Dham yatra'.
