New Delhi: Harsh Pati Singhania, Managing Director of J K Paper, has taken over as the President of the International Chamber of Commerce India, while Rajan Bharti Mittal became the new Vice-President.

Singhania, who was the Vice-President of the chamber earlier, has been appointed as the President replacing Raghu Mody, Chairman of The Rasoi Group.

ICC India, which is the Indian affiliate of the Paris- based ICC, is the world business organisation with presence in over 90 countries like Germany, France and India.

"We will focus on having more Indian businessmen on global committees which are formed to encourage cooperation among member countries. This will help in increasing the visibility of Indian businesses at the global level," Singhania said.

Besides, he said, the chamber would encourage the member nations of the ICC to avoid protectionist measures.

Singhania, who did Masters in Business Administration from University of Massachusetts, USA, is the Past President of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Ficci).
