Bulandshahr: The farmers in Uttar Pradesh are up for difficult times ahead as Haryana has banned purchase of wheat produced in Uttar Pradesh.

The decision of Bhupinder Singh Hooda government led to a chaos-like situation on the UP-Haryana border here on Saturday as hundreds of farmers with wheat laden tractors were stopped from entering the state.

Farmers of around hundred villages situated close to the UP-Haryana border sale their produce in Haryana ever year. However, following orders of the state government, Haryana Police stopped these farmers from entering the state on Saturday.

It led to an eight-kilometre jam. Two major routes, Palwal –Aligarh and Jewar-Jhuppa, were completely blocked.

Farmers were unwilling to take back their produce and it took hours of strenuous efforts by the Police to convince farmers and to clear the traffic.
