The Chief Minister announced to give financial assistance for relief and rehabilitation of earthquake ravaged Nepal through the Centre, an official spokesperson said.

He asked the people to lend a helping hand to the victims in whatever way they can in this hour of crisis.

Khattar, who was celebrating his 61st birthday on Tuesday, chose to keep it a low-key affair in view of the tragedy in Nepal.

Meanwhile, the death toll from the 7.9-magnitude April 25 temblor rose to 7,365 while the number of injured has reached 14,355.
