Chandigarh: In order to encourage sports talents, Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs Department has decided to distribute two awards for outstanding performances at district and state levels for the year 2011-12.

These awards would be, ‘Sarvshrestha Yuva Puraskar’ and ‘Sarvshrestha Yuva Sangathan Puraskar’.

For this, selection committees have been formed under the guidance of Additional Deputy Commissioner. The members of these committees would include the officials of district level Sports and Youth Affairs Department, District Social Welfare officers, District Youth Coordinator and members of YCOs committees.

Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs Department director O P Singh said that those youths would be awarded with ‘Sarvshrestha Yuva Puraskar’ who have actively participated in the programmes of health & family welfare, environment conservation, professional trainings, education, women empowerment  and  cultural activities.

The decision of conferring ‘Sarvshrestha Yuva Sangathan Puraskar’ would be made on the basis of an overall performance of any organization within last three years.

O P Singh added that a cash award of Rs 3,000 at district level and Rs 5,000 at state level would be given under ‘Sarvshrestha Yuva Puraskar’ whereas Rs 5,000 at district and Rs 20,000 at state level would be given under Sarvshrestha Yuva Sangathan Puraskar’.
