Chandigarh: Gurgaon on Delhi's outskirts will be among the three districts in Haryana where the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) will be launched on pilot basis.

The other two districts are Ambala and Panchkula, Chief Secretary P K Chaudhery told reporters after a meeting of the state Apex Committee. He said the project will later be rolled out across the state.

CCTNS is a comprehensive and integrated system for enhancing efficiency and effective policing at all levels, especially at the police station-level. It is achieved through e-governance and creation of a nationwide networked infrastructure for evolution of state-of-the-art IT tracking system.

The project would also create a platform for sharing intelligence and crime and criminal information across the states, the country and other state-level and Central government agencies, official sources said.
