Chandigarh: Blaming the Bhupinder Singh Hooda-led Congress government in Haryana for power crisis in the state, the Indian National Lok Dal accused the state government of alleged irregularities in the construction of Yamunanagar and Khedar Thermal Power Stations.

Former CM Omprakash Chautala-led INLD delegation met Governor Jagannath Paharia and submitted memorandum in this regard.

Chautala informed the Governor that the state is reeling under power crisis thanks to the inferior quality of machinery installed in the Yamunanagar and Khedar Thermal Power Stations.

The way government manipulated the bidding process to benefit favored contractors smells of corruption added Chautala.

Being the Opposition leader in the state assembly I had written a letter to the CM in this regard six months ago opined the INLD supremo.

The state exchequer had to incur heavy financial losses due to manipulation in the bidding process in Yamunanagar Thermal Power Station said Chautala.

“The state is facing acute shortage of electricity while the government has increased the power tariff. This has put an extra burden of Rs 1795 crore to the people of state” added the INLD chief.
