Chandigarh:The cash-in- hand expenditure of the Haryana sarpanches has been raised to Rs 25000 from the earlier limit of Rs 10000.

Under the new arrangement they have been given authority to release Rs 25000 for expenses on panchayat works any time.

A notification has been issued in this regard.

Monthly expenditure for ensuring regular supply of potable water has also been raised.

According to new scheme, panchayats will get Rs 11000 for installing one tube-well, 1,5000 for two tube wells and 20,000 for three tube wells. Earlier for the same work done, panchayats were getting Rs 7,000, 10,000 and 13,000 respectively.

Panchayats have also been assigned rights to get development works amounting to Rs 10, 0000 done through the panchayati raj engineer wing.

Honorariums of panchayat committee head as well as its member have also been hiked. Now they will get Rs 4500, 6000 and Rs 1200 as honorariums.

Now councillors would be getting Rs 7,000, 6000 and 2500 respectively. Also, the honorarium of civic workers has been raised to Rs 4348 from Rs 3525.
