Chandigarh: In order to cover maximum students under the Anusuchit Jati Chhattra Ucch Shiksha Protsahan Yojana, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Saturday gave directions to increase the income limit of guardians from Rs two lakh per anum to Rs three lakh.

Decision to this effect was taken in a review meeting held here under the chairmanship of Hooda.

Hooda issued directions to the concerned officials that 'Kanyadan Rashi' being given under Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini Viwah Shagun Yojna should reach the beneficiary families at the time of marriage so that it could be utilized for the purpose it was given.

Self declared certificate given by the girls would be sufficient to avail the benefit under the scheme, he said, according to an official release here.

Under the scheme annual scholarship between Rs 5,000 and Rs 14,000 was given to the girl students studying science, commerce and other professional courses.
