Chandigarh: Haryana Tourism Corporation has joined hands with India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) to promote a special scheme for creation of employable skills amongst the state youths.

With this initiative, HTC has become the first state tourism corporation to partner with ITDC to promote the scheme, a spokesman of the corporation said on Wednesday.
'Hunar se Rozgar' programme was launched in 2009 and has been successfully implemented at various places in the country, he said.

Union Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation and Culture Minister Kumari Selja will launch the programme in Ambala on May 4 and the first batch of 50 candidates would be admitted and provided training, he added.

Twenty five candidates would be trained in Food and Beverage service for six weeks. The second group of 25 candidates would be provided training in Food Production trade for eight weeks. Under the scheme, a person seeking admission to the programme should be minimum standard eighth pass and in the age group of 18 to 28 years. The admissions are being done on a first-come-first-serve basis, he added.
