By scoring the 54th run in his 66-run innings against West Indies in the first ODI, the 31-year-old Amla has broked the record of Kohli and West Indian great Vivian Richard's of scoring fastest 5000 runs.

Amla has scored 5000 runs in 101 innings of his 104th match while Kohli and Richards have scored  these runs in 114 inings.

Few days ago, Amla has broked Kohli's another record of scoring fastest 17 centuries in 98 innings while
Kohli has scored 17 centuries in 112 inings.

Meanwhile, Team India will start its ODI tri-series campaign against Australia at MCG on Sunday. England is the third team in the tournament that kicked on Friday. Australia defeated England by three wickets in the opening match at the SCG on Friday.
