Ahmedabad: ‘Hat-trick man’ and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Friday met Governor Dr Kamla Beniwal and exchanged pleasantries and staked claim to form government in the state.

He will be sworn-in as the Chief Minister of Gujarat for the third consecutive time on December 26.

On Thursday, Modi silenced his critics by registering a third successive win in the just concluded state assembly polls.

The BJP, which registered its fifth consecutive victory in Gujarat and third under Modi, won 115 seats after results were declared on Thursday. The Congress bagged 61 seats, while former Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel-led Gujarat Parivartan Party (GPP) managed to win just two seats.

Modi, who is being now seen as a potential Prime Ministerial candidate of the BJP for 2014 Lok Sabha polls, is scheduled to visit New Delhi on December 27.
