When the petition by one Abdul Habur came up for hearing, the court directed the government to file its counter containing the actions taken by the police so far and adjourned the case by one week.

The petitioner had alleged that under the guise of attacking Seeman, founder of 'Naam Thamilar Katchi', Raja had made the speech in January last against social reformer E V R Periyar, Muslims and Christians which was uploaded on video sharing site Youtube.

He had sought a direction to the police to file an FIR and entrust the investigation to CBI, claiming that police failed to act on his complaint.

During the hearing on Friday, the petitioner’s counsel P Rathinam told the court that the police have registered FIR on a complaint that was lodged after the petitioner’s complaint.

Government advocate said the police were doing their duty and investigation was on.
