Chandigarh: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has issued notice to Chandigarh administration while hearing a petition over tightening the security arrangements in the High Court premises.

A division bench of the acting Chief Justice has sought reply in this context from Chandigarh Union Territory administration before October 13.

After Wednesday’s atrocious terror attacks at Delhi High Court, counsel H C Arora had filed a PIL regarding strengthening of security arrangements in the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

Arora urged the court for a foolproof security system equipped with modern electronic gadgets on the pattern of security system installed in the Supreme Court of India.

Pointing towards the poor security arrangements at the ‘Gate No 1’of the court, Arora said that anyone can enter the court premises without any much difficulty.

In an attempt to avoid any untoward incident in the court, Arora has requested the High Court to issue identity proofs to lawyers and photo IDs for general public visiting the court.
