Barnala: Punjab and Haryana High Court on Thursday asked Barnala administration to complete its probe into the FIR lodged against state secretary of People’s Party of Punjab and Sarpanch of Lohgadh Kulwant Singh within two months.

The FIR was lodged by Panch of villager Saudagar Singh. Kulwant was charged for diverting the government funds. Citing the RTI documents and High Court’s order copy, Saudagar said that he had taken up the matter with several district officers demanding a thorough probe but no one attempted to take a note on his complaints.

He further alleged that the matter was being deliberately delayed.

He added, “Complaints were registered with Punjab Government and Director of Rural Development. They asked the District Council officer to look into the matter, but he was transferred in between and thus, the probe stopped.”

On November 22, Saudagar registered a case in Punjab and Haryana High Court and on November 29, the High Court directed the Punjab Government and Rural Development secretary and Panchayat and DC Barnala to submit a report after completing their investigation in two months.
