New Delhi: The hearing in the criminal defamation case filed by Lt Gen (retd) Tejinder Singh against Army Chief VK Singh was on Saturday deferred by the court till April 26.

A Magistrate court is set to give its decision on whether to issue summons to Army Chief VK Singh in this regard or not. A Delhi Court has already recorded the statement of Lt Gen (retd) Tejinder Singh in the case.

It is to be noted, Army Chief VK Singh had written a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh about being offered Rs 14-crore bribe to strike a defence deal.

Lt Gen (retd) Tejinder Singh had filed a defamation suit in a Magistrate's court and had asked the court to summon and initiate proceedings against General Singh for making the ‘libellious’ statement against him in the media.
