Shimla: The weather can again play spoilsport for the people of Himachal Pradesh as heavy rains and snowfall are forecasted for high and medium altitude areas of the state. Also, hailstorms are expected to raise the troubles of those living in plains.

According to the meteorological department, the weather will remain unchanged in the next three days. The retrieving winters since the onset of March have again witnessed a revival with the state experiencing repeated snowfall.

Light snowfall has been recorded in Shimla in the last two days while fresh traces of snow were experienced in the higher altitudes. While 4.4 centimetres of snowfall was witnessed in tribal land of Kalpa, light snowfall was seen in Kailash of Kinnaur and Manimahesh Hills of Sirmaur district. However, clouds covered the sky on Sunday as the cold winds led to a dip in temperature.

According to the weather department, the active western storm is behind the heavy rainfall in higher altitudes and rainfall in low lying areas. There are scarce chances of any improvement in the minimum and maximum temperature in next 24 hours.

While the minimum temperature was recorded minus 11.4 degree Celsius in Kelund, the maximum temperature was recorded 26 degree Celsius in Paonta Sahib.
