Patna: Veteran actress and Rajya Sabha member Hema Malini, on Friday visited Patna to participate in the ongoing Bihar Shatabdi Utsav (celebrating 100 years of establishment of Bihar as a separate state).

Highly impressed with the development of Bihar in a short span of time under the leadership of Nitish Kumar, Hema Malini heaped praises on him and said, “Nitish Kumar’s roadmap has given Bihar a different identity. Bihar has always produced great leaders for the country. It has given direction to the human civilisation. The first university of the World - Nalanda University is here.”

“I still remember my old days of shooting here. There was a time when people dreaded going out with their families in evening, but the scenario has changed in the state. Nitish Kumar is doing a tremendous job for which he is getting recognition from people across the country,” she said.

She also opined that the neighbouring country China has also been impressed by the rapid economic development of Bihar.

“The BJP-JD(U) alliance will strengthen further in Bihar.” The actress said.

The theme of this year's celebration is ‘Gauravshali 100 Baras’ (Glorious 100 years) of Bihar.

On Thursday evening, the Chief Minister inaugurated the mega event at the historical Gandhi Maidan in the state Capital. As part of the Bihar Shatabdi Utsav, the state government is organising a series of events across the state.
