Chandigarh: To speed up the trial procedures, High Court will now issue notices to Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh government offices via email. The drive was taken up to develop an internet friendly environment in the government offices.

To initiate proper steps, the High Court administration is gearing up to take adequate measures in the implementation of the scheme.

During the hearing of a case, the three states gave the e-mail ids and other details of their nodal officers to the High Court bench. After, which the bench ordered the National Information Center to implement the email services programme as soon as possible.

Noticeably, the Supreme Court on July 28, 2010 had ordered all the officials to take up the drive and use email services for any further notices.

Punjab and Haryana High Court after the Apex Court’s observation has asked for the email ids of the nodal officers from the administration to prevent any kind of delay in hearings.

The step was taken up to reduce the efforts and time wastage, which all the government offices were facing due to the traditional methods and paperworks.
