1. In the Rail Budget 2015-16, there was no increase in rail fares.

2.  'Operation 5 minutes' was introduced, wherein passengers travelling unreserved can purchase tickets within 5 minutes.

3. No new trains were announced.

4. Passengers could book tickets 120 days in advance instead of 60 days earlier.

5. It was announced that 400 railway stations will be provided with WiFi and mobile charging facilities to be availabe in all train compartments.

6. A nationwide helpline number '138' was introduced for rail related queries and 182 for security related issues.

7. On board entertainment in Shatabdis was introduced.

8. In the Rail Budget 2015, it was announced that satellite stations will be built around 10 major stations to reduce congestion and serve the suburbs.

9. Two hundred stations were to be brought under the 'Adarsh Station Scheme' with basic amenities like toilets, drinking water, catering services, waiting rooms etc.

10. Facility of online booking of wheelchair for senior citizens was introduced.
