Shimla: Congress high command has taken a hard stand in the wake of parallel meetings going on inside the party. (JPN/Bureau)
The party high command has warned that disciplinary action would be taken against those involved in anti-party activities.
The Congress has also started preparations for the forthcoming state assembly elections and a process of filing applications for party membership has already begun but increasing groupism in the party has upset the high command.
AICC General Secretary Chaudhary Virender Singh, who is also the party in-charge of the state, in a directive given to the state headquarters said that appointments in the party organization made after July 27 have been quashed with immediate effect.
He further said that those who have been appointed on the district level and state level units of the party have no right to participate in any party meeting
Despite this, those who joined the party after July 27 are participating in meetings and are also taking decisions at their own.
Party sources said that if such meetings take place without the prior permission of party officials, they would be termed null and void. Such people have neither rights to organize any meeting nor any decision taken by them would be accepted. Action would also be taken against those who participate in such meetings.
