Shimla: Opposing the recent petrol price hike, the Himachal Pradesh Cabinet has decided to protest against the Central government by holding marches across the state.

Himachal Pradesh Cabinet sub-committee president and Cabinet Minister Thakur Gulab Singh said that all the members of the state Cabinet would lead protest marches n the state against the anti-people policy of the Centre.

“The government has cheated people by hiking the petrol prices when the inflation is already sky-rocketing. Cabinet members will take steps to save petrol. The state BJP will soon launch a state-wide protest against the Centre,” he said.

BJP’s offensive comes after the Oil Companies raised petrol prices by Rs 5 per/litre just a day after the election results of five states were announced.

Yuva Morcha starts agitation

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the youth wing of BJP has commenced a state-wide agitation across all districts of the state which would soon reach the state capital.

BJYM state president Narendra Atri said the Central government has cheated the common man by announcing the petrol price hike.


Meanwhile, the Congress state president Thakur Kaul Singh chose not to comment on the issue.
