The tribal areas reeled under intense cold wave conditions with mercury staying 2 to 5 degrees Celsius below freezing point, while Keylong and Kalpa in twin tribal districts of Lahaul and Spiti Kinnaur recorded minimum temperatures at 2.9 degrees and 4.2 degrees Celsius respectively.
Manali too was cold with minimum temperature dipping to 6.2 degrees Celsius while Solan and Chamba recorded a low of 7.9 degrees and 9.7 degrees Celsius, followed by Bhuntar and Shimla 10.5 degrees Celsius, Sundernagar 10.8 deg Celsius, Nahan 13.6 degrees Celsius, Una 14 degrees Celsius and Dharamsala 18.2 degrees Celsius, a drop of 2 to 4 degrees Celsius since last Saturday.
The maximum day temperatures stayed close to normal with Una recording a high of 32 degrees Celsius, followed by Sundernagar 28.3 degrees Celsius, Bhuntar 28 degrees Celsius, Dharamsala 26.8 degrees Celsius, Nahan 26.5 degrees Celsius, Solan 25.5 degrees Celsius, Shimla 20.1 degrees Celsius and Kalpa 17.4 degrees Celsius.
The local MeT office has predicted dry weather in the region with marginal fall in night temperature in higher hills.
