Simla: As a result of Anna Hazare’s crusade against corruption, the Himachal Pradesh government has woken up to the cause of curbing the menace in the state. Therefore, Special Courts will be set up in Himachal Pradesh to confiscate the assets of the corrupt.

In this regard, the State Legislative Assembly passed The Himachal Pradesh Special Courts (Attachment and Confiscation of property) Bill, 2011 on Tuesday.

Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said, “All the members of the House are united to bring about a strict law against corruption. The law is same for everyone and will be amended if required.”

He informed that all the government employees and officials will come under the ambit of the anti-corruption law. Also, the government will be able to confiscate their assets lying outside the state or abroad.

Moreover, he urged the members of Opposition to give their suggestions on the revision of the law.

During the discussion, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Suresh Bhardwaj assured that the common man will also be able to reap the benefits of the anti-corruption law.
