Shimla: With Assembly elections in five states looming large, a large number of senior leaders and workers of Congress and BJP in Himachal Pradesh have joined the campaign trail in neighbouring states of Punjab and Uttarakhand.

While former Chief Minister and BJP Vice President Shanta Kumar is in-charge of Punjab, Chief Minister P K Dhumal, BJYM President Anurag Thakur, Krishan Kapoor and Romesh Dhawala, ministers Sat Pal Satti and Varinder Kanwar and over a dozen MLAS, including Vipin Parmar, Rakesh Pathania, former minister Praveen Sharma and some other leaders are campaigning in these states.

Dhumal has already started his campaign in Punjab and he would Campaign in Uttarakhand after the first leg and come back for campaigning in Punjab and stay there till January 28.

Congress leaders from Kangra and Una have also joined the campaign in Punjab while leaders from Sirmaur and Solan district are concentrating in Uttarakhand and border areas of Punjab.

A large number of workers have also left for Punjab and Uttarakhand to assist the local party leaders and workers in organising the campaign.
