According to DGP, the intelligence input was passed on by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) authorities in Jammu and Kashmir.

The DGP further said that patrolling was intensified on the roads connecting Chamba district with Jammu and Kashmir to prevent any attempt by extremists to infiltrate.

Chamba district shares nearly 200 kilometers border with Jammu and Kashmir and it is easy for the militants to infiltrate due to mountainous terrain.

The Kashmir valley has witnessed several attacks by militants, insurgency, and infiltration attempts from across the border in the last two decades.
