Bangalore: A telephone call about a bomb being planted at Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) on Thursday created panic amongst staff and students. All were evacuated from the building and the bomb threat eventually turned out to be a hoax.
The call, which was received at IIMB reception at 12 PM sent the staff into tizzy and in no time the building was evacuated as there were few staffs and less students as it’s vacation time, the police said.

A thorough search by the Bomb Disposal Squad and sniffer dogs revealed it was a prank call, the police said.

The call has been traced to a coin phone booth at a shop in JP Nagar police station limits. The caller is yet to be traced, the police said.
