New Delhi: The market size of holi colour and accessories in India is likely to touch Rs 12,000 crore this year, Assocham said on Monday.
While the herbal and perfumed colours industry is expected to touch Rs 4,500 crore, holi accessories industry consisting of colour spray cans, water balloons, and toys, is likely to reach Rs 7,500 crore this year, the industry body claimed.
However, the chamber did not disclose the current market
size of the sector.

"Aggressive campaigns and rise in public awareness against use of low quality, adulterated, synthetic and harmful chemical colours has driven the demand for herbal and environment-friendly colours," it said.
Nearly 85 per cent of the accessories segment is abuzz with Chinese goods, it said adding "most of these goods lack in quality".
"Though costly but herbal colours are a hit amid people as they are made from natural ingredients. Besides, herbal colours are eco-friendly and non-toxic," it added.
