Noida: In a move to prevent the spread of deadly Tuberculosis, the district health authority has decided to take assistance from the homeopathy and Ayurvedic doctors to provide Dots medicines (Tuberculosis medicine) to the ailing patients suffering the disease.

For the purpose, the doctors would be made Dots provider. The drive would be initiated in the district as a pilot project. If the drive succeeds, it would be implemented across the state.     

As per the plan, the homeopathy doctors would be sent to the district hospitals to diagnose the susceptible patients of the Tuberculosis. And if diagnosed, the patients can also take medicines from the doctors.

13 homeopathy doctors in the district who had applied for the Dots provider would be soon given the responsibility of providing the medicine. The applications were sent to the health official. Following the approval, the 13 doctors would be performing the duties of the Dots provider.

The District Coordinator of Market Based Partnership for Health (MBPH) TB programme, Vikas Rashtogi has informed that 13 of the homeopathy doctors of the districts have showed their willingness in becoming the Dots provider. In this regard, a workshop was also held.

In first phase, the Dots medicine would be available with the district hospitals and the homeopathy doctors. In second phase, plans are being thought that the medicines would also be made available in the market which would be sold free of cost.
