Chandigarh: Haryana government on Tuesday announced to increase the monthly remuneration being paid to mid day meal workers from Rs 1000 to Rs 1150.

Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, who was presiding over a meeting of Mid-Day Meal Workers and Accredited Social Health Activists(ASHA) here, said that the remuneration, shared by the Centre and the state government in the ratio of 75:25, would now be increased from Rs 250 to Rs 400.

Hooda also directed the concerned officers to issue guidelines to help mid-day meal workers during pregnancy.

The Chief Minister said that the workers, who would perform satisfactory services, would not be removed.
