“Uttar Pradesh was a rich and progressive state but the wrong policies of Akhilesh Yadav government have led to its downfall,” Hooda said on Wednesday.

He was speaking at the rally of Congress candidate Raj Babbar from Ghaziabad parliamentary constituency. The rally was held at Ramleela Maidan in Rawali area of the district.

In his address, Babbar said he has come to reside with the people and not run away after winning the elections.

Meanwhile, in an apparent attack at the BJP, Rashtriya Lok Dal leader and Mathura MP Jayant Chowdhury said some parties are indulging in ‘divisive politics’.

Jayant, who is the son of RLD supremo Ajit Singh, said Uttar Pradesh must turn the chants of ‘Har Har Modi’ to ‘Haar Haar Modi’.
