Bhubaneshwar: In an unprecedented incident, the Board of Secondary Education (BSE),Odisha on Thursday deferred the High School Certificate Examination across the state after question papers were stolen by some miscreants at Bhagabati Vidyapeetha of Kakatpur block in Puri district.

The Board will now decide the new schedule of the examination.

According to sources, some miscreants allegedly broke into the Headmaster's chamber and made away with the question papers after locking Security guard in his room.

While talking to the media after the incident, State Board Chief, Dr.Satyakam Mishra said, “We have cancelled the examinations across the state and will announce new dates in couple of days.”
An FIR has been lodged in Kakatpur Police station in this regard.

Meanwhile, primary investigation held three school employees including examination center superintendent responsible for the incident. All three have been suspended.
